For the first time yesterday, in my over four decades of existence, I was at the dentist. Some weeks ago, started experiencing some discomfort. A powerful X-ray machine was used to examine my molars, and later on the screen, I could see the “culprit” tooth🙂.
A thought came to me during my dentist visit, about how we need to ask the Lord to examine our hearts in His light. When Isaiah saw Himself in the light of the Lord’s holiness, he saw he was a man of unclean lips, he cried out and was purged. Isaiah 8:1-8
In the book of Revelation chapters 2 and 3, we see the message of our Lord Jesus Christ to the 7 churches – His warnings and encouragement should make us sober, vigilant, and heavenly-minded.
2 Corinthians 13:5: Examine yourselves to see if your faith is genuine. Test yourselves. Surely you know that Jesus Christ is among you[a]; if not, you have failed the test of genuine faith.
Paul admonished us to examine ourselves. We cannot always assume that everything is fine especially when we feel the conviction of the HolySpirit, or we notice our warning signs that point to the need for us to seek the face of the Lord and see if we are still in the faith, if we are still in the truth, if we are still in love with Him.
We are in the last days and according to Jesus, the love of many will wax cold. Also, there are a lot of falsehoods, heresies, and doctrines of devils being popularized. We have to watch and pray even as we expect the coming of the Lord.
Do we still have compassion in our hearts that can keep us praying for the salvation of souls? Do we have the passion that compels us to get out of our comfort zone into the streets to preach the gospel, show the love of Christ, and raise the banner of truth?
Jude 24 Now all glory to God, who is able to keep you from falling away and will bring you with great joy into his glorious presence without a single fault.
May our lives always give glory to God, bless humanity, and be a holy preparation for eternity with Jesus!
